The 1614 Globe Re-Creation

The AGC re-creation of the 1614 Globe will be a timber frame re-creation, built with theorized Elizabethan/Jacobean building methods and materials wherever possible (with modern safety elements incorporated).

Peter McCurdy was responsible for the detailed design, fabrication and erection of the entire timber structure of the Wanamaker London Globe, and we hope to involve Peter in our project.  McCurdy & Co. invested 10 years in rigorous historical research to reconstruct the Globe – knowledge which we believe will transfer to Stratford.
