The World's Stage

The AGC's 1614 Globe will be a timber-frame re-creation, built with Elizabethan/Jacobean building methods and materials along with modern safety and ADA elements.  Derived from the Wenceslaus Hollar drawing and robust scholarly analysis, the AGC 1614 Globe will be the only one of its kind in the world.

Peter McCurdy was responsible for the detailed design and fabrication of the entire timber structure of Shakespeare's Globe in London, and Peter is excited to join us in our project.  McCurdy & Co. invested 10 years in rigorous historical research to reconstruct the Globe – knowledge which will transfer to the American Globe.

Shakespeare's Shakespeare

Performances at the 1614 Globe will incorporate Shakespeare's Staging Conditions (such as Shared Light, Actor Doubling, Minimal Sets, and Live Music) to create immersive and engaging performances.
